With a view to strengthening the roots of democracy, inculcating healthy habits of discipline, tolerance of the views of others and to enable the student community to know something about the working of Parliament, the JP international School, Greater Noida participated in SAMVAD 2019 Youth parliament hosted by Cambridge School on 15 and 16 Oct 2019.
This provided a new kind of exposure to our students related to politics.
This 2-days event consisted of 4 different committees, with each of them having a separate mandate and a different agenda/topic on which debate and deliberation were done,at the end of which a document containing the resolutions and methods to resolve the problem was passed by the students.
These 4 committees were-
- Lok Sabha –National Education Bill 2019
- All India Political Parties Meet – Reviewing the National Security Policy emphasis on the cross-border terrorism
- Stakeholders Meet – Deliberation over Agrarian crisis and food security in India
- National Press – Journalist, Photographers and Caricaturists .
These Committees were judged by an experienced and impartial jury.
Chief guests for event were Denial Chuburu ( Ambassador of Argentina), Maneesh Garg ( joint secretary, ministry of HRD) and Major General G.D. Bakshi .
The students learnt to analyse and deliberate on matters of national importance. They developed interest in the political scenario of the country and got an insight into the working of Indian parliament
