English Week Celebration- Middle Wing

JP International School celebrated ‘English Fest’ from 18th Jan – 23rd Jan 2021 for the students of classes 6-8 to inculcate the love & passion for the language. The theme of the fest was ‘Celebrating Indian Authors and Poets’, with an aim to upsurge the knowledge and to inculcate reading habits beyond school curriculum. A plethora of activities were created to help the students expand their horizon.

The week started with ‘Poster making activity’ by the students of classes VI and VII making posters about their favourite author or poet and writing about them. On The second day students of class VIII showcased their technological skills by making a PowerPoint presentation on ‘How can we increase interest in English language’ On the third day dramatic skills of class VII students were assessed through ‘Story Narration’ written by ‘Ruskin Bond’ or ‘Sudha Murti’ The fourth day was chosen for ‘Poem- Recitation’ by the students of class VI in honour of our beloved “Rabindranath Tagore’ or “Sarojini Naidu’.  The fifth day was dedicated to the names of APJ Abdul Kalam, Kiran Bedi and Sojourner Truth, where students had to perform a declamation of any speech given by these 3 individuals.

A special assembly was organised on the final day by the English department to showcase the good work done by the students. A week long activities facilitated students to broaden their horizon and inculcate the ability to understand and imbibe the language. Such endeavours boost the morale of the students and set the pace for an enjoyable learning.
