JP International School , located at Sector Omega 1 joined hand with Katha which promotes the joy of reading and the love of books, especially among underprivileged children to organize first ever KATHA UTSAV in this region nurture and incubate young writers. JP International School has been focusing a lot on 21st century skills and wherein communication skill is the most important element of expression Youngsters are moving away from the traditional jobs and beginning to use the information and communication technology revolution to create alternative jobs. Poetry, writing, stand-up comedy, film-making are becoming highly coveted skills. As such, we need to hone the skills of our children so that they can take their rightful place in this beautiful world of ours.
It was an important day for the JP International School to host their first ever inter school katha Utsav, where everyone could be seen working with great enthusiasm. Shri S. Raghunathan from Katha interacted with children and spoke with children about, why creativity matters and said “ We are so delighted to work together with JP international School and very happy to see how this school is working on the creative aspects of children and we if keep giving them such platforms we can nurture many young authors”
Amit Saxena, Vice President of the group said “We have been working constantly to enhance the reading and writing skills of every child and quite amazed to see the hidden talent in them. All we need to do is to hone their skills and team Katha is the perfect partner for us as we share the same passion”
Ms Upma Singh Sr HM of JPIS said “ Our intent is always to work on multidimensional personality of our students and Katha Utsav is a great opportunity for those who have a flair of writing to showcase their abilities and get a great platform”.
Young writers have participated in large numbers from various schools DPS G, Kothari International, JBM, Shiv Nadar School etc and team of curators like Debojit Dutta, Nilanjana Bhattacharjee, Varening Konghay and Pratyush Dwivedi conducted interactive workshops on fiction, non-fiction and poetry with children. The passionate young children and creative children learned the tricks and specifics of their respective crafts and wrote stories and poems.
