JPIS Greater Noida hosted a performance by Pandit Bhola Nath Mishra- India’s renowned Vocalist, and his Accompanists : Pt. Bharat Bhushan Goswami (sarangi) Pt. Ashok Moitra (Tabla), Sh. Ajay Mishra (Harmonium) and Ms. Sanchari Bhattacharjee (Tanpura) under the ages of SPIC MACAY, on 28th April 18 in the school campus. Sir Bhola Nath Mishra Ji is a recipient of gold medal by Bangiya Sangeet Parishad (West Bengal), Suromani Award in Haridas Sangeet Sammelan (Mumbai), and the Chinmoy Lahiri Award from Arunodaya (Kolkata).
The artists were accorded a traditional welcome and the program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Pt. Bhola Nath Mishra, School Principal Ma’am and the Head Mistresses. The students were indeed fortunate to experience the wonders of Indian Classical Music. Pt. Bholanathji introduced what classical music is, its origin and its various forms raagas and taals. He started the program with introduction of Taals in different styles. He emphasized that if sung properly, music affects mind, body and soul. He also presented various Jugalbandis. He interacted with children in a very simple and beautiful way and encouraged the children to sing along. The program culminated with the famous Bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’. Everybody was mesmerised with his soulful rendition.
The specific aim of this program was to co relate art with education. His interaction with students was very interesting and educative, as he satisfactorily replied to the queries of the students about classical music and imparted value education together with music.
Chairman Mr. Roshan Aggarwal, President Mr. Arun Kedia, Vice President Mr. Amit Saxena, Principal Ms. Heema Sharma were present in the programme.
