While our Learner of JPIS are enjoying the summer camp, their teachers are occupied in learning and equipping themselves to cater to develop the Student’s Profile with an International Mindedness. Today, at JPIS, teachers attended a workshop on ‘Inquiry Based Learning’ and on developing ‘International Mindedness’ in students.
The workshop began with words of guidance from Principal Ms. Heema Sharma. The Headmistress Primary wing, Ms. Himani Taneja conducted the workshop and helped teachers to plan towards the ‘Program of Inquiry’ for the school.
Teachers were introduced to various models of inquiry including Kath Murdoch Inquiry Process Model.
Globally inspired themes were introduced and teachers learnt how to develop ‘Central Idea’ and ‘Lines of Inquiry’. The workshop was focused on the belief that student learning is best done when it is authentic—relevant to the “real” world; and interdisciplinary— where the learning is not confined within the boundaries of traditional subject areas but is supported and enriched by them.
