JPIS Triumphs at Green School Carnival 2025, Wins Changemaker Award

On February 4, 2025, the Green School Carnival 2025 was held at Stein Auditorium in New Delhi, bringing together educators, students, and environmental advocates to celebrate sustainable practices in education. The event featured prominent guests, including Mr. Sonam Wangchuk from Ladakh, a champion of environmental innovation, who inspired the audience with his vision for sustainable change. During the event, the book Imprints of Change: A Compendium of Sustainability Environmental Practices in Schools in India was launched, reflecting the ongoing efforts of schools nationwide in embracing sustainability.

JP International School (JPIS) was recognized for its consistent efforts towards sustainability and its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The school has implemented various green initiatives, such as a solar panel system, cleanliness drives, e-waste bins, water harvesting, 70% CNG-powered school buses, a medicinal garden, and the adoption of a village school. Additionally, JPIS has been actively involved in community welfare programs addressing issues like hunger, illiteracy, and poverty, and it continues to educate students about sustainability.

For its exceptional commitment to sustainability, JPIS was awarded the prestigious Changemaker Award. The school, having moved from a yellow to a GREEN rating, was acknowledged for continuously monitoring and enhancing its environmental practices. The award was presented to the school’s Principal, Ms. Ruby Chandel, who has been instrumental in driving these initiatives.

Ms. Niru Kumari, a GSP Ambassador 2025, was also recognized for her outstanding efforts. JPIS students showcased their creative talents by participating in various competitions such as the "Spoof To Stage: The Gobar Times Comic Satire Skit Contest" and the "Master Mascot Makers: GSP Mascot Making Contest," contributing to the carnival’s vibrant atmosphere.

The highlight of the event was the GSP Audit 2025, which saw a record-breaking participation of 8,831 schools from 33 states including Union territories across India.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for JPIS, as it continues its commitment to becoming a leading green school, driven by the constant efforts of the school management, under the leadership of Principal Ms. Ruby Chandel.
