"The smiling face of every little girl is the signature of God's presence."
SDG Goal 5 - Aims of SDG 5 is to achieve gender equality by ending all forms of discrimination, violence, and harmful practices against women and girls. It also calls for the full participation of women and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making.
To promote SDG goal 5, We celebrated International Girl Child Day.
International Girl Child Day is an important occasion that promotes awareness about the rights and well-being of girls. At JPIS, we celebrated this day enthusiastically, aiming to educate our young students about the importance of gender equality and the significance of saving the girl child on 11th October 2023. The event included a skit on gender equality by grade 2 students.
The celebration began with a captivating skit performed by our grade 2 students. The skit depicted the journey of a young girl who, despite facing gender stereotypes and biases, pursued her dreams and aspirations. Through their exceptional acting skills, the students conveyed a powerful message about the importance of gender equality. The skit inspired and motivated the audience to support and empower girls to achieve their goals.
Our esteemed Principal, Mrs. Ruby Chandel graced the occasion with her motivating words. She emphasized the significance of International Girl Child Day and the vital role girls play in shaping the world. She encouraged students to believe in themselves and their abilities, irrespective of their gender. Her speech inspired young minds and instilled a sense of purpose in promoting gender equality.
Celebration to Save the Girl Child: The celebration also included activities aimed at spreading awareness about saving the girl child.
The International Girl Child Day celebration was a remarkable event that brought students and teachers together to champion the cause of gender equality and girl child empowerment. This event has left a lasting impact on our students, motivating them to be advocates for gender equality and to work towards saving the girl child.
