We at JP International School, Greater Noida believe in the overall development of our children. Mental health is as important as our physical health and so is our awareness of it. Let's take a step forward to eliminate the myths and social stigma related to it. As we celebrate Mental Health Week from 4th October 2023 to 12th October 2023. The following are the activities that were conducted:-
05/10/2023 (Thursday) - Puberty Awareness Workshop:
(For Girls Grades 6 to 9)
The workshop was conducted on the Topic: Puberty Awareness for grades 6 to 9. A speaker from organisation 'Right Side Story- Whisper India' was invited, who gave an informative talk session and answered the queries related to menstruation and body changes faced by girls. The session also included the topic of body awareness education.
06/10/2023 (Friday) - Yoga and meditation session:
(Grade 6 to 8)
Both yoga and meditation are complementary practices, combining them in a wellness routine enhances the benefits further. They can be valuable tools for promoting physical and mental well-being. On this day grades 6 to 8 had yoga and meditation sessions which made them feel more energetic and mindful.
07/10/2023 (Saturday) - Slogan Writing and Poster making
(Grade 9 to 12)
Topics:
Poster-making and Slogan-writing activities would help students develop creativity, educational, and empathetic exercises that can raise awareness and improve communication skills. Basically, this activity was conducted to create awareness among students who can further make an effective change in our society. After a long time, the children enjoyed using colors and putting out their emotions on the sheets.
09/10/2023 (Monday) - Yoga and meditation session
(Grade 9 to 12)
Children of grades 9 to 12 had sessions on Yoga and meditation. Where they explained the benefits of it. The different benefits explained were Physical Fitness, Stress Reduction, Better Posture, Respiratory Health, Weight Management, Circulation, Stress Reduction, Improved Concentration, Emotional Well-Being, Mindfulness and Self-Awareness. Children practiced yoga and it was also focused that children follow it in their regular daily practice.

11/10/2023 (Wednesday) - Workshop on ‘Heart and Mind in Harmony: Power of Emotional Intelligence’
(Grade 11 & 12)
Speakers from Rishihood University, Sonepat; gave an interactive session where children were given insight into understanding Emotional intelligence.
Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the ability to recognize, understand, manage, and effectively use your own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. It offers several other benefits that help foster positive relationships and emotional well-being. Overall, emotional intelligence is a powerful tool for personal and professional success.
12/10/2023 (Thursday) - Students talk on 'Mental Health'.
(Grade 9 & 10)
Students of Grades 9 and 10 were involved in a Talk on mental health. Where they expressed their views on the topic. Discussed the present scenario about Mental health and social stigma related to it.
