PUBERTY EDUCATION WORKSHOP IN JPIS

A workshop on PUBERTY EDUCATION was conducted on May 20, 2014, in JPIS, in alignment with SDG-3 (Good Health and well being )for the girl students of grade 5th to 9thwith the objective of providing students with comprehensive information about the physical, emotional, and social changes associated with puberty, as well as practical strategies for navigating this transitional period with confidence and understanding.

The session was conducted by Right Side Story in collaboration with P&G and Ms. Aditi Solomon was the esteemed speaker, who is an empathetic and versatile student well being trainer.

The session began with a warm welcome to the esteemed guests and participants, emphasizing the importance of understanding and embracing the changes that come with puberty. The facilitator introduced the topic of puberty, defining it as a natural process of physical and emotional development that occurs during adolescence. She also addressed the emotional aspect of puberty, including mood swings, increased self- awareness, and developing identity

She stressed upon the importance of understanding our body and provided detailed information about specific body changes, including menstruation cycle.She further emphasized the importance of self-care and hygiene during puberty.

The session concluded with a recap of key points about puberty and the changes it brings. Participants were reassured that puberty is a normal and natural process that everyone experiences at their own pace. Students were encouraged to ask questions and seek support from trusted adults if they had concerns or needed further guidance.

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive.

Overall, the puberty education session was informative, engaging, and well- received by participants. It served as an important step in promoting the physical and emotional well-being of students during this significant stage of development.
